Joining UFO is really easy - just get involved!
There are 5 levels of involvement with UFO:
We are local people doing things for the local community. Everything we do is because local people give their time and commitment as volunteers - the more people who get involved the more we can do. If you want to find out more about volunteering with us see our Get Involved section.
‘Friend of UFO’ is a category for individuals who are interested in what the UFO does and want to be kept up to date with our plans. You may not have time to support us but may choose to support us financially by becoming a regular donor, click on Local Giving
Associates are individuals who support and promote the aims and objectives of the UFO, but who can't commit to regular involvement. Nonetheless, they are interested in what we do and may wish to contribute to decision making for projects of interest.
Volunteers help to bring our plans to life by giving their time to perform a wide range of tasks. Individuals may volunteer with us on a regular basis or just occasionally when time permits.
Members are committed supporters of the UFO, with responsibility for developing and delivering the plans that meet the needs of the organisation.
The criteria for joining UFO is:
- that you demonstrate support for the values of UFO
- that you have been involved for over 6 months
- you take an active co-ordinating role within the organisation
- you contribute to decision making.
The director’s primary role is to lead the organisation in identifying future needs, formulating plans to achieve those needs and ensuring that the values and vision of the organisation are reflected in the work we do and how we do it.
