So that everyone can get involved with UFO we have defined 5 ways to get involved. They are listed below and range from showing an interest in our work to getting involved in running the organisation. Key to all our work are volunteers, which is how most people get involved, although if you don't have much time, but are able to support us finacially become a 'Friend' and taking up a monthly donation through Local Giving, is a fantastic way of showing your support for our work. Whichever way of getting involved suits you, we are thankful for your support.
‘Friend of UFO’ is a category for individuals who are interested in what the UFO does and want to be kept up to date with our plans. You may not have time to support us but may choose to support us financially by becoming a regular donor.
Associates are individuals who support and promote the aims and objectives of the UFO, but who can't commit to regular involvement. Nonetheless, they are interested in what we do and may wish to contribute to decision making for projects of interest.
Volunteers help to bring our plans to life by giving their time to perform a wide range of tasks. Individuals may volunteer with us on a regular basis or just occasionally when time permits.
Members are committed supporters of the UFO, with responsibility for developing and delivering the plans that meet the needs of the organisation.
The criteria for joinging UFO is:
- that you demonstrate support for the values of UFO
- that you have been involved for over 6 months
- you take an active co-ordinating role within the organisation
- you contribute to decision making.
The director’s primary role is to lead the organisation in identifying future needs, formulating plans to achieve those needs and ensuring that the values and vision of the organisation are reflected in the work we do and how we do it.
